Smiths & Sons (Bletchington) Limited have installed a bore hole within the village green as part of it’s on-going commitment to monitor ground water levels in the area surrounding the Gill Mill quarry. A reading is taken every two weeks of the ground water level and also of the actual level of the water in the pond. Data gathered from these two sources is shared with Ducklington Parish Council. Rain fall data is supplied by a local resident.

You may also be interested in the level of the river Windrush, however this is only available on the website of the Environment Agency

The chart below shows the change in both water levels over the weeks, the bottom axis shows the week number. The top of the brown shading indicates the height of the pond bed, i.e. when the yellow line drops below, the pond is dry.
